Kinetic Elements Is Performing at FAT!

Kinetic Elements is a part of Toronto Alternative Fashion Week!

We are performing reSURGEnce on Friday April 29th as part of their theme Dress Codes: The theme explores work that is influenced by different cultural groups, subcultures, demographics, politics, sex and gender identities. The night will showcase designers and artists whose work looks at the social significance of clothing and who we are, defined by what we wear. It’s going to a fantastic evening with so many talented people. We go on stage at 7pm tomorrow night and we hope to see you there for a night of fashion and fun! Rehearsal

Rehearsal time again!

Right now we are getting ready for some upcoming shows for April. It is an exciting time, I really look forward to this part of the process.

This year I am approaching the work differently. I find every time we start a new piece, I try to be less and less rigid with my planning and try to be in the moment with the dancers. Which for a type A person like me, it can be hard just to walk in rehearsal and go with the flow, but it is what has been happening. It is an uncomfortable experience for me, but I find life is all about pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone and you never know what good things will come of it.

Kinetic Elements is proud to announce that they are a part of the 60 x 60 Festival! There is going to be 60 choreographers each presenting 60 seconds of choreography to tie it all in together in one big show! Find out more information here about the event.

reSURGEnce

We are happy to announce that Kinetic Elements is going to be a part of Series 8:08 this Saturday night! It is a Choreographic Performance Workshop where YOU get to be right in the middle of the creative process. Choreographers and companies come to this Series to show a work in progress, then you as the audience get to write down your comments; good or bad and hand them in. Then the choreographer gets all the comments at the end – So you get to be a part of the process as well!

How cool is that? Plus, you will be the first among a few to see the latest works by some great choreographers and dancers. Amazing!
